Board of Education Requests Proposals From Search Firms To Assist With Superintendent Selection
The Cincinnati Public Schools Board of Education published today a request for proposal (RFP) for qualified executive search firms to assist the Board with the selection of the district's next superintendent. Former Superintendent Laura Mitchell announced her resignation in May 2021. Tianay Amat was named Interim Superintendent effective June 12, 2021.
"Conducting a national search and identifying the best candidate for CPS superintendent is one of the most important jobs of the Board of Education," said Carolyn Jones, board president.
A search firm will assist with key pieces of the national search process including:
- Facilitating a process for community input and engagement
- Identifying a pool of highly qualified candidates
- Coordinating the interview process
- Helping the board narrow down the field of candidates
- Advising the board on a competitive compensation package
